If it’s your first time booking a band, you’re certain to have lots of questions! Below you can find a list of the most common questions about booking a band. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please feel free to email us.
The Performance
What time will the band arrive?
For evening events the band will usually arrive and set-up from 5:30pm-6pm onwards. For weddings, this means they’re ready to set up as soon as the wedding breakfast and speeches are finished. With corporate and charity events, the band will always set up and sound check before guests arrive.
How long does it take the band to set up?
The band usually allows an hour to set up.
How long will the band play for?
The band mostly performs 2 x 45, but they can offer any length of set to suit. Other common options include 2 x 60 or 3 x 40 minute sets. If your require longer sets than the standard 2 x 45 then please mention this when emailing for a quotation.
How long are the intervals?
The intervals are usually around 20 minutes long but this can be longer to suit your requirements on the day.
What time should the band start playing?
This is completely up to you and your schedule on the day. For evening events, we find it’s often best to start the band at around 7:30pm but this is purely a guide.
Will the band learn a specific song to be played at our Event / Wedding?
We will learn one special song for free, so if you have a first dance or a song to end the night on just let us know a few months before the event. Any extra songs will incur a small fee that can be discussed when booking.
Can we choose the set list?
You’re welcome to send over a list of your favourite songs from the bands repertoire and the band will try to include these in their set.
Does the band provide music between and before sets?
Yes, the band is happy to provide music via an iPod/iPad between sets, this is usually a pre-mixed playlist. If you have particular songs in mind, you’re also welcome to create your own playlists which can be played through the band’s PA system.
What will the band wear?
The band can dress to suit your event. So if you require a tux for a black tie event, then please request this. If there is no specific request for clothing for the event, the band will dress similarly to their photographs.
Will the band require refreshments?
We request that the band is provided with free soft drinks throughout their stay at the venue and a meal, usually after they’ve set up. The band often sets out for the event mid-afternoon, and will often arrive home early hours of the morning so a hot meal is always greatly appreciated.
The Venue
Does the band provide their own PA system / Sound equipment?
Yes, the band is self-contained and provides suitable sound equipment.
Do we need to hire a raised stage?
A stage is always a great addition to a performance but is not a requirement.
What are the minimum power requirements for the band?
The band requires at least 1, ideally two independent 13 amp sockets. This can vary depending on the size of the band and sound system. Details will be included in the contract.
Is the band PAT tested with adequate public liability insurance (PLI)?
Yes, if the venue requires a certificate for either of the above, please let us know at least 2 months before or as soon as possible if booked sooner.
